A post worshipping Mayans

In the ancient America, an extensive astronomical study developed, but it wasn't a worthless study, it unveiled the eyes of many Indians to the first notion of Astronomy; a notion even more accurate than actual contemporary human systems, we are pointing Mayans.
Some Mayan Observations are well known and even famous like the one referring to the 6th Sun Birthday at December 21st, 2012.

They had their own solar calendar and know the periodicity of eclipses, shaped stones with formulas for predicting solar eclipses and Venus Orbit.
If most of the prehispanic Mexican civilizations developed hieroglyphs, Mayans reached the phonetic-alphabetic phase, also the vigesimal numerical system started by the Olmec was perfected between the III and IV centuries B.C.

The calendar begins in a zero date possibly the June 8th, 8498 B.C. in our computation of time, although not entirely sure. The Mayans also had a year of 365 days (18 months of 20 days and an intercalary month of 5 days).

Studies on the stars that Mayans made, continue surprising scientists. Their obsession with the movement of the heavenly bodies was based on the cyclical conception of history, and astronomy was the tool used to determine the influence of the stars on the world. Many buildings were constructed in order to stage celestial phenomena on Earth, such as El Castillo at Chichen Itza, where the landing of  God Kukulkan, a snake formed by shadows created at the corners of the building during the solstices observed. The four steps of the building add 365 steps, the days of the year. In the Dresden Codex are the calculations of the lunar, solar, Venusian cycles and frequency tables of eclipses.

Mayans still being a mystery. Where have they gone? Why they left?  Had they discovered something beyond our comprehension? Questions can keep going but what we've learn about them is mainly important for astronomy conception.

Brief Introduction To Universe

One of the questions that man had been pondering since it's got use of memory refers to the world that surrounds it.
The more knowledge it gets, the more this world starts expanding and taking a bit of sense, but there's always a blank space, What's out there?
Therefore, Astronomy plays a great role here, starting by analyzing and studying all what is inside universe.
Leaving aside Philosophy, lets explain, What is Universe?

"Universe is everything surrounding us, with no exception"

Matter, Antimatter, Energy, Space & Time,  absolutely everything that exists forms part of it.

Universe contains galaxies, comets, asteroids, nebulae, white dwarfs, galaxy clusters, superclusters and even more; besides almost, infinite matter.
Even with all "Today's Technology", we still unknowing the exact size of Universe, even though those uncountable researches and proposed equations.
As referring to matter, this is not uniformly distributed, instead, its concentrated in concrete places: Galaxies, Systems, Stars, Planets. Yet, around 95% of Universe is non-visible dark matter.

Some of the most abundant elements in Universe are:

Big Bang's Theory and its relation with actual Universe.

Modern science considers big bang as the closest theory to he formation of universe; this theory states that 13,700 million years ago, matter used to have almost infinite density and temperature, estimating density at 1x10 ^72 g/cm3.
Due to this conditions, a massive and violent explosion took place, creating what we know and, hence, universe started loosing density and temperature, keeping a process of expansion.
Since everything is better described with a picture...

Universe had always been a mystery, in fact it stills being a mystery, we can say that all what we know is just 1 atom of it. Since mythological and religious explanations from past, to the modern research stuff available to scientists and astronomers, taking into account that science had evolved exponentially on the last 100 years.
There are lots of things to discover, but inside this matter of universe studying, we're nothing but just little ants trying to explore the outer world outside its ant hill.
By now, we only have left to evolve our minds, since there are some concepts that for human understanding will be absolutely incomprehensible.

Later Travelers.

Bienvenidos

Hola Viajeros, Bienvenidos.

Welcome

Hi Travelers, Welcome
First of all, thank you for joining me on this amazing journey throughout the misterious universe.

On this trip, which is a honor for me to start, I'll be guiding you on various paths that play a role on the magnific sciences of Astronomy & Cosmology.

We are passing by times of deep changes and as a unit we'll start unveiling little by little the bandage upon our eyes, a bandage that had been placed on us since we've got a notion of awareness.
But, How we do that?, easy, by using one of the most powerful weapons in life... knowledge.

It's time for us to break down all those boundaries that society has been forcing us to live.

It's time to Wake Up.
